The Killing Tones at Grand Central - Thursday, 22 October

Thanks to everyone who came along to the Thirsty Dog on Saturday night. Especially Kaos & Riot for coming up from Tauranga (the new EP is rad - pick it up from the band: www.myspace.com/streetratz13 ) and Ghost Echoes, who are sounding awesome and even managed to get the Shore Girls in attendance onto the dance floor. No thanks to Army Dave Rogan though, who convinced us to spend the door takings on Jagermeister.

We are playing at Grand Central (126 Ponsonby Road, next to Murder Burger) on Thursday, 22 October (the Thursday before Labour Day). Also on the dance card will be Riot Grrls HYSTERROR (www.myspace.com/hysterrorband) and punkers DOLE DAY RAGE (www.myspace.com/doledayrage).
Hope to see you there, here's the poster:

Thirsty Dog Tomorrow Night

Dear The Killing Tones t-shirt owners (and others),

We are writing to remind you all that we will be playing the Thirsty Dog tomorrow night (Saturday 26 September). We would be most grateful if you would attend. Please bring your friends. We are totally down with [insert corporate sponsor] fashion week and sh*t, so have designed some snappy new outfits to mark this wonderful occassion.

In addition, we are playing a secret show somewhere in Auckland on Saturday, October 10. Rumours surrounding this show are plentiful, and so far include a bearded lady, a bouncy castle, and a Dodge Charger.

This photo was taken by Hanna Hegan at a show a month or so back, it features Ghost Echoes' Dave Rogan and our very own Greg Judd (who we are nice enough share with Ghost Echoes):

Thirsty Dog

The Killing Tones are playing next Saturday 26th September at the Thirsty Dog. Check out the multi-cultural Ghost Echoes with their revamped line up (30% more handsome www.myspace.com/ghostechoes) and Kaos and Riot (up from sunny Tauranga for the night www.myspace.com/streetratz13).

Only $5 if you get there before 9pm (we will be on shortly after that). Lots of good beers on tap and some rad tight punk music for a way lower price and with a way better view than any Green Day show you'll see this year.

There are also murmers about another show coming up in mid October. Keep your ear to the ground for that one...

What we did on the weekend (photos)

Cheers to everyone for coming along to Westmere on Saturday night to see us play. Especially those who bought t-shirts! (Only NZ$30, let us know by commenting below if you want one)

Also to The Exiles (http://www.exiles.co.nz/) for tearing it up, particularly Harry for tripling up and being sound guy and road crew on top of his bass playing responsibilities.

Last but not least, thanks to the residents of the Westend Brothel (Ben, Sarah, Tony, others) for opening up your home to some smelly punks. Special praise to Sarah's noise control negotiation skills.

We're playing the Thirsty Dog on K Road on Saturday 26th September with our pals Ghost Echoes and streetpunks Kaos and Riot (all the way from Tauranga). The poster is up on the right-hand side of this page. Hope to see you there. The EP is mere weeks away, then we'll have some sort of party to celebrate that. Check back here for more news.

EP update

The EP is almost done. Rad. The track listing will be approximately as follows:

1. Unicorn Patrol
2. Click
3. School
4. Greg-o-lution
5. F*ck your Jock Boyfriend
6. Haterade
7. Staying Up
8. Earth Zombies
9. Creeper

All the instruments (unless you count the voice as an instrument like some music school douche) were recorded last weekend at Mace's house. We will put up some photos of recording soon. Vocals will be recorded when we get around to it. Dave is just memorising all the words.

Seeing as we have done it all ourselves (and have charged ourselves very reasonable rates for our services), it is likely that the EP will be free, or at least basically free (maybe one beer, or a gold coin donation).

Big thanks to Graeme Judd for letting us borrow his sweet korg mixer/recorder thing and some mics and cables. And also to Nate Judd for lending us some sound dampening thingees.

Reminder: The Killing Tones are playing at 9.30pm this Saturday 12th September at a secret location.

T-shirts, with logo designed by Rush Fay, will be available for purchase on Saturday night for only $30ea (cash only).
